QUICK IS TOO LIBERAL WITH BALLS
Senas Sis af tb rrohlba First Baa
free By Carter Stars by Cat
, Mac OM Txrm Baaa at the
Home Plate. .
It was bargain day yesterday on the
Vinton street campus, where the Dea
Moines aga-retratlon turned the tables on
Fa's children with a. score of S to 0. The
defeat can Justly, however,' be laid to Mr.
Qulck, who pitched a poor same for the
Bangers and, besides, made two egregious
. .errors. Quick allowed seven men of the
-TobJbltlonlsta to beat their way. to first
and permitted them to make eight base
hits and two sacrifices. In the fourth
Quick trifled with Hoffman's anemlo hit
In tbe sixth he let Connery-s lilt get off
the hook. Connery was later caught out,
thanks of the quick action of Howard
and Dolan. But Hoffman scored when
BchITi made a two-base hit. With the ex
ceptions of the second and sixth Innings,
Quick passed one man to first each Inning.
Altogether twenty-one of the visiting bat
ters arrived af first base during the game
In different ways, while but nine of tha
local team rearhod there In happiness.
Quick received excellent support.
The first Inning passed away for the
Des Moines In one, two, three order. Mc
Chesney 'opened the second with a two
base hit. but was caught trying to grope
his way from second to third. Then Mil
ler and Schlls went out on a pair of In
cipient flies. In the third Josh Clarke sent
a two-bagger, out to center field. Hoffer
had previously walked and tried to tramp
home on Clarke's hit., Hoffer reached third
and was on the next tack for home when
Dolan, who had Just received the ball from
Welch, sent the little sphere to Oondlng
In apple-pie order. Hoffer lost out and
Clarke was left on the base.
In the bloody fourth Lobert, the first man
tip, was transported to first without charge.
Hoffman -was the next man, to be monarch
of all he surveyed qn first, reaching that
happy destination by virtue of an error
already mentioned.' McChesney came to
bat and sent out a single. This made
three men on bases, , no outs and Dusty
Miller at bat and gloating with great gobs
of Joy. Miller did send, out a good one,'
but It fell Into Nick Carter's fine Italian
hands. But Carter did not want the ball
after ha caught It. Ho sent the ball back
to Oondlng Ilka a shot out of a repeating
rifle and put out Lobert, who thought he
could run from third base' home before
Carter could throw the ball In. But Car
. ter made a splondld double play.
" . Repeats it fa the Eighth.
And that Is not all, In the eighth he
made an exactly similar play. Brother
Connery, was the man behind the bat In the
eighth. He hit the ball to right field and
went put to' Carter, who fired the ball
In to Oondlng almost before he had caught
It, and got McChesney out Just In the man-
ner that Lober saw his finish. Thus Nick
cut .off two runs for Dea Moines by bis
remarkable sieed and throws.. But to go
back to the' gory fourth. After Lobert and
Miller had been retired on the double play,
this left Hoffman and McChesney on bases.
Sohils came to bat and. could see that two
men were, on bases and that a long hit
might bring results. Bchlls had It all figured
out. His face showed it. He raised his
bat and rent out a two-base hit, on which
Hoffman and McCheaney made rapid sprints
for home.' Then Connery went out and
8chfls was left tO Tnourn on second. ' '
In the fifth, Lobert and' Hoffman made
hits and brought in Clarke, who had been
..anchored at -first by an error of Thomas.
' After that the Iowans made a few hits,
': .but did not, Increase their capital stock.
Tha grounds were wet and the skies
threatening. 'It-was ladles day and a gen-,
erous ; representation of the fair sex
watched the game. Pa'a boys accompanied
the ' Des Moines team to beard the lions
In their dens for three days. Then Pa'a
loved ones go to Sioux City to take two
games and return here next Sunday for
a series with the Sioux. Attendance, 1,600.

We have mado a life study of the diseases and weaknesses so prevalent
among men, spending thousands of dollars In researches and scientific investiga
tions, and have evolved a special system of treatment which Is a - safe, sure
and certain ' cure for all skin, nervous, blood and private, diseases. We have
confined .ourselves entirely to a single class of diseases and their allied com
plications and mastered them. We do not scatter our faculties, hut concen
trate them upon our particular specialty. This accounts for tho difference be
tween success and failure In the treatment and cure of diseases of men. The
Physician who tries to explore and conquer the whole field of medicine and

Our object is not so much to do the work that other doctors can do, but
rather to cure obstinate cases which baffle' them; troubles which : have been
asgravated and made worse by experimental and unreliable treatment. If you
are ailing, do not be satisfied until you have- been examined by the best spec

your aliment,, an examination that will disclose your true physical condition,
without a knowledge of which you are groping In the dark, and without a thor

to treat you. You may be sent away happy without any treatment, but with
advice that will save you time and money ns well as mental disgrace. If you
