The 1ok!cI coneqnencs of Blackburn's
usurpation In the matter of the congriM
alonal primary la seen In the action of the
Judicial coninilt'ee which proposes to Juln
with the cmgre'sl'inat committee for a co
operative election of delegates to the con
gressional and Judicial convention at one
ari the nurne ttme. Those commit tens pro
pose to Ignore the regularly constituted
auihorltlne of the party In the respective
counties making up the d:strlct and to In
atltue primary eleotlona of their own. On.
the aamo principle the atate committee
could come into Douglas county and in
augurate a primary election to choose dele
gate to the atate convention without the
aid or consent of any local commltee, and
by the same subversion of local self-government
in party organization the national
committee could come Into Nebraska and
run the primaries and conventions upon
wMch the make-up of the national ticket
depends.
In the matter of the Judicial committee
that body la worse up a stump than the
congressional committee. It can co-operate
possibly with the congressional committee
In Sarpy, Douglas and 'Washington coun
ties, but its Jurisdiction Includes also Curt
county, which I not in the Cfmsresslonal
dlalrlct, and in Burt county it will have no
one to co-operate- with. To get delegate
from Burt county the Judicial committee
will have to play It game en solitaire.. It
I to be noted also that "It proposes to

A full fledged corner In July wheat baa
developed on the Omaha Boltrd of Trade.
Kanaa City" partle are the victim with

The shortage probably la over 175. 000
bushel and there Isn't any contract wheat

covering the ale of the delivery, to-78,
the low point, to M, th high.
Th selling started as far back as late
in February at K, and from there the
bear hammered the price down to 7S.
where the report of rust, short crop sup
plies the world over, probable foreign com
plication and excellent demand for wheat
turned the price on the up grade steadily
to 9 a few dajs ago.
Lata harvest have been one of the chief
factor aiding th bulls and the poor grade
of the wheat received has been another,
the fact that mlilera were wild after the
cereal going Into the scale on the aide of
advancing price.
Kansas City sent up twenty-two car of
hard wheat by the Missouri Pacific Mon
day, but every car of it graded No. J, o
that the shorts were unabla to deliver a
bushel of the stuff on contracts. The
record of the exchange show there hasn't
been a bushel of wheat delivered on July
contracts to date and there are but four
more business day in the month.

Farmers are expected to take notice of
thl condition and rush In their wheat if
they have any good enough to grade No.
1 The price, 02 bid,, ia higher . than at
any other mart .and will not. last after
Friday.
The corner is .regarded a the direct re
sult of condition the world over which
could not be foreseen.
"Of eourae it ha been caused directly by
the speculative aln of eelling that which
you haven't got," remarked a man on th
board. "Kansas City' loss is Omaha.'
gain."
Testerday the bulls showed their horns.
Standing In the pit they bid and bid, but
the bears were cowed down and silent.
July wheat, which. . closed at 11 cent
asked yesterday, was advanced steadily to
S3 cent bid, when 6,000 bushel were sold.
It.wa 88 cent a week ago. September
was advanced from an opening at 81 cent
bid to 82 cents bid. ' '
December received a boost from 75 cent
to V cents.
The bulls also were lively In corn, ad
vancing price rapidly. ' 1
Mr. Jaqulth in an Interview ald:
"The man who sells the farmers' product

of ten year will go broke, no matter how
much money he ha got.

We're cut the prices on all our fine muslin underwear rind hosiery. In those linos ortr
peason business has been unusually large we've reapod our lepltiraahte profits and it's
only prudent business methods to eell our odds and ends at a sacrifice in price. We make it
a point to keep our stocks fresh and new and it's such sales as these that make it possible
for us to effect an immediate clearance of all accumulated broken lines. We cannot say how
lon each item will last, but you'll have to take your chances and be here early tomorrow
morning.
