CO DORADO BPRINC38, July 14. (Special
Teleg ram. Colorado Springs Jumped Into
first place today because of two victories
over the Rourkaites and a slump in Den
ver's standing. It wu a batting session
from first to lut, and all pltchera were
treated alike. The flrat game wti ntp and
tuck up to the fifth Inning, when a lucky
bunch of hits, winding; up with a homer by
RadcllfTe, netted five for the WHllea. ThU
fave them a cinch. VUleman was batted
fiercely by every man. on the Omaha team,
but many of the beat singles were wasted
because of the following batters being un
able to deliver the goods at - the right
time.
Quick was not fast enough for the Mil
lionaires, who retained their magnificent
batting eyea In the second game. ' After
tha Brat Inning the contest was a mere pro
cession, although the visitors played for all
they knew. Five hits, a sacrifice and two
outs In the eighth Inning made tha game
safe for the locals. . Howard and Miller
scored In the first on Dustys two-bagger
and a following hit. Shlpke scored In the
third on Gooding's double. Congalton
muffed one and Dolan strolled home In the
fourth. Miller hit after two were out In
the fifth and Brown Allowed with a home
run. .
