lay. MOharlb and Rainland want to tb front

the stand the first time Moharlb was a nose

hind the favorite. The positions remained
the same up th back stretch, Moharlb and
Rainland leading by three lengths, English
Lad third, under a heavy pull, fifteen
lengths ahead of Elwood.
At the mile and an eighth Domlnlck gave
English Lad his head. He passed Rain
land, who had enough, then challenged
Moharlb, and after a brief struggle passed
the Schorr colt. At the stretch English
Lad had he race a his mercy. He In
creased his lead to four lengths an etghth
from the wire and won eased up by six
lengths. Bernays, the odds on favorite in
the fifth race, fell to his knees at the start,
but was sent after the field, overhauling
them one by one, but could not get up
