LINCOLN. June 26. (Special.) A soon

this week Chief Justice Holcomb will leave

the cool sea breeses of the Pacific lit an
effort to Hd V.mself of several slight
twinges of rheumatism that have In ths

visit will be Indefinite snd It Is the belief
of his physloians thst a vacation from his

And this visit recdlls that every day It
becomes mor evident thst Judge Holcomb
would not refus ths fusion romlnstion

member of the stalwarts ar looking his
way with the belief that he would be a
formidable rival of Governor Mickey for
the votes of the people. It hss been thought
by many that Judge Holcomb would not
give up hi two mor years on ths supreme
bench to make the try for ths position of
governor, but th neceaelty of him doing
thla has been done away with by the ac

In the meantime th two-baded organ

nation of Chairman Lehr. for the leader
ore foolish enough to believe it will seri
ously injur the dominant party, snd at
tlte committee meeting next Thursday
evening they expect much fireworks, not
so much over the election of a chairman,
for It is gonerally belleysd ths state com
mittee' will hame the man recommended
by the candidates, but over the location of
the headquarters. Politicians of LanoasUf
county have fairly burned th earth hut
Ilnf around to seeahe members of the com

who rtr saying that for Lincoln to give
up th headquarter now after the party
Is already way behind with the Campaign,
would b Joollshness. They will urg that
much morectime will be lost in removing
tbe headquarters and they are Citing the
resignation of Lehr to show that only thl
end of the state can be depended upon to
conduct political affairs. A mighty effort
will bs made to keep those headquarters
right Where they ar.
The names of those men who were promi
