NEBRASKA AT ST, LOUIS FAIR

MOVING PICTURE THEATER IS A BIG HIT
Leeatloa af Nebraska Exhibit la Aarrl

Caaspleaaas Tkaa It Waala
Ba la atata Balldlag.
Judge Matt Miller of David City, member
of the Nebraska commission to the Louis
iana Purchase exposition, is in the city
on his return from ' visit of about two
weeks at .Nebraska headquarters' on the
St. Louis fair grounds. Judea Miller is
more than delighted at the Nebraska dis
play and said:
"As a matter of fact, the Nebraska show
tng Is the best state exhibit on the grounds.
J do not say this as a matter of self-elation,
but as an absolute fact. The Ne
braska exhibit is located in the most con
spicuous pnrt of the Agricultural palace,
and Its arrangement Is such as to command
Immediate attention, and from 2,600 to 3.600
persons visit It dally. The moving picture
theater, depicting agricultural scenes in
Nebraska, is the only exhibition of the
kind at the exposition, and the exhibitions
are going on constantly, with thousands
of enthuslastlo spectators enjoying them.
The pictures number about 100 and repre
sent all the phases of farm work, plowing,
harvesting, threshing, corn planting, corn
husking, cattle feeding, csttle branding,
dairy scenes, range and ranch scenes, etc.,
that attract the wldeat publlo Interest.
Then the Nebraska corn, small grain, for
age .grasses, fruit, dairy exhibits, etc., are
by far the best in the big building, and are
so compact aa to keep Nebraska constantly
to the front, and they are constantly ad
mired. We have adopted the rule there
that Nebraska products are to ba seen
and handled if so desired. They are
wtlhln reach and not disfigured with re
strictive notices or cards of Hands Off,'
but the visitor Is at liberty to examine
them to his heart's content Right ad
Joining the exhibits Is the best room, pro
vided with easy chairs, writing materials
and all ths Nebraska dally papers, and our
assistants are Instructed to extend every
possible civility and courtesy to visitors.
It is the only place in the big building
where you can get a drink of good Ice
water free of cost. Wa have an abundance

them through their most critical

Nebraska la Caaspleaaas.
"Tou know, of course, that Nebraska has
no isolated building, the entire exhibit, rest
room and theater being close together In
the Agricultural palace. We want every
Nebraskan to know and feel that the Ne
braska headquarters Is his home while on
the greunda He can have his letters .ad
dressed to him care of the Nebraska head
quarters, Agricultural palace. Then we
have a check room where the visiter can
leave his packages or grips with the assur
ance that they will be taken care of..
"Twenty times mora people visit the Ne
braska exhibit than any other state ex
hibit and we ars getting a great advertise
ment. This shows tha wisdom of the com
mission in expending the money appro
priated for the purpose on the exhibits
rather than upon a - useless and scarcely
visited building In some remote part of the
grounds. None of ths state appropriation
has yet been touched, so we have that in
reserve for the remainder of the exhibition,
and It will enable us to keep Nebraska
right at the front all the time. New pic
tures ara being constantly added to the
moving ploture theater. Our agricultural
sxhlblt is not the only one we have. We
have a splendid display of fruits In Horti
cultural hall, and the eduoational exhibit
la not surpassed by any among tha educa
tional exhibits. The Omaha schools figure
very prominently and creditably In the
school display. I could talk to you for
hours, and then not half tell all we sra
doing there for the glory of the best state
In the union, our own Nebraska.
"The commission will meet at Nebraska
headquarters July L and .should any of you
ba there, coma and see us. Come anyhow,
at any and all times, and make yourselves
perfectly at borne."
The outcome of his work will mean reve
lations concerning the richness of the fos
slllferous strata of the far west beds which
rival the greatest bone fields of Europe. -
