Enow predicts tne winter wheat condition will be 78.3 aa against 74.1 last month. The spring wheat condition he placet at 80 9 tut .against M 7 for last year. Trading, though, was not as brisk as ft has been on some days, and if there was any change at all It was a little weaker feeling on soma of the less desirable grades. The bulk of the offerings, though, was disposed of ln fairly good season. The better grades of corn-fed steer changed hands today without much trouble at good, steady prices. Heavy cattle on the plain oraer or cattio or any weigni tnu were not ln good flesh and lacking ln qual ity were rather neglected and sold steady to a shade lower. Packer seemed to be rather Indifferent and aa a result trading was not aa brisk a usual of late, which always means that some cattle have to sell a little lower. Buyers acted a though they were going on the theory that there would be quite a few cattle here tomorrow, which would give them a chance to buy them lower. The cow market showed practically no change from yesterday. Anything at all de- BiraDie in xne com-icu imi unwiiw uauiua without difficulty at steady price. Greas ers and canners and cutters, the same ns waa th case yesterday, sold at rather un even prices, but averaged up about steady. There Is nothing new to be said of the market on atockera and feeder. There were not a great many her today, but not many were wanted. The demand from ths country this week ha been nothing extra and all grades have suffered. The better grades re right around a quarter lower for Ihe week, while the common light cattle are 85fi40c lower and very slow sale at the decline. Receipts were not excesalvs and the local demand was of liberal proportlona, which prevented price from ufferlnf decline. The tnavr- ket was perhaps: a little uneven, with the feeling. If anything, strong on the good hogs and weak on otha-rs, but the change In either direction was scarcely noticeable and not worth mentioning. Trading waa fairly active after buyers and sellers got together on prices and a good clearance was made by the mWdle of the forenoon. The bulk of the good hogs sold from $4.65 to $4.70, with the choice loads largely from $4-70 to $4 80, with a top at $4 85. The light and common hogs sold from $4.45 down.
