Omaha yesterday afternoon with a score of

panlon's that hta men failed to slide over
the plata, but principally to the superb
support given Chlnn by the locals. Com
panion pitched a hard-fought gam and
held th Josephines down to three scatter
ing sofa hits, while Chlnn waa swatted by
very man who stepped to the rubber, and
was taken down for nine safe ones. Both,
Howard and Thomas slammed out pretty
two-baggon, but failed to get further than
the second sack.
When McBrlde, In ths fourth, waa pre
sented with a bass on balls, and Sample
went to first on a fielder's choice. It was
Bolden vsho slammed out tha ohunk to
loft that brought both men home.
Carter made a pretty running oatoh of
Bclden's skyscraper. In the eighth, with
three men on bases. It looked as though
Omaha would tie tha store and that an
