CATTLE There ma another liberal rum
Of cattle here thi morning and for a Thurs
day other point were also well supplied.
Packer did not take hold with mucn life
they have of late owing no doubt to the
fact that they already have about all the
cattle they need for the present. Trading
waa alow all the morning, with the tendency
of prices downward.
Corn-fed steers still continue to make up
the bulk of the offerings. Buyer were slow
about starting out this morning and were
very Indifferent after they did go to the
yard. The market waa generally 66 loc
lower than yesterday, the least decline be
ing on the handy, tidy cattle of good qual
ity. Heavy cattle, unless strictly choice,
and the commoner grade of all weights
were generally a dime lower and slow sale
at the decline. Owing to the large number
on sale It was late In the day before any
thing like a clearance waa made.
The cow market did not suffer quite aa
badly a steers. There were not very many
ort sale and the better grade of light
weight cow and heifers sold at not far
from steady price. The lea desirable
grade, though, were a little lower. The
fact that shippers took hold quite freely of
the better grade of butcher stock helped
out the market .n that claa to a consid
erable extent.
Bull sold at about steady price. It will
be noticed that bull have been selling to
better advantage thin week than for some
time past, the choicer grade now elllng up
to 13.75 and occasionally a high a 14 is
paid. Veal calve are now coming In very
freely, but price at thi point have held
about steady.
Stocker and feeders were again In light
supply and anything at all decent sold at
practically steady price. Common stuff
was rather neglected, with price weak.

HOGS There were over 30 cr of hogs
reported thi morning, and Chicago, well
as other points, also had libenu receipts,
ao that prices eased off again. The market
here opened 24Uc lower than yt-sterdsy s
general market, or about a nickel lower
than yesterday' best time. The fact son
became apparent that peckers had liberal
orders 10 nil and trading became more
brisk, with price stronger. At th close
of the market about half of the early ite
ciln had Deen regained. The earlv sale
were mostly at I . and 44 724. while the
later ones were at 14 724 nd 14 7i. The
choicer load wld largely from 14 .0 to 14 W
and a prime bunch 01 heavy hogs brougnt
14 rti. The common and hght stuff sold
from 14 To down, owing to tne activity of
the mrkt after buyer and sellers finally
got together, an early clearance sat mad
In spite of the heavy receipt. Representa
