CATTLE There were no cattle on sale
this morning, but for the week receipts
show very Tittle change from last week,
with an Increase of about 2,000 head over
the corresponding week of lost year. For
the year to date there is also very little
change from last year. On some days the
receipts show a slight increase and on oth
ers a small decrease. The charge in either
direction seldom goes much over 6.0U0 head
Tho liberal receipts of cnttlo the early
part of last week had a tendency to break
the market. Toward the close of the week,
however, supplies were very moderate and
the week closed with a stronger feeling
than waa experienced in the middle of the
Week. As compared With a week ago the
market on steers is right around 10l5c
lower. Heavy plain cattle have shown the
greatest decline, while tidy block cattle of
good flesh and quality have shown the
least ana Rra in me greatest armaria
Packers are still taking ouallty Into con
sideration more than their generally, do.
Good- to choice steers are quotable from
84.60 to 85, with something strictly fancy a
little above that. Fair to good grades sell
from 84.16 to $4.60 and the warmed-up and
short-fed cattle largely from 83.50 to 84.
The cow market wits also affected to some
extent by the liberal supplies early In the
j week amounting to fully WW 15c. Good light
weight cows and heifers, however, are just
about steady, as the demand for that class
has been fully equal to the supply and each
day's offerings were picked up in a hurry.-
Canners nave Deen in iimnea supply ana

they have for some time past. Good to
choice cows ena neuers are quotuDie irom
$3.26 to $4, fair to good from $2.50 to $3.13
and canners and cutters from $3 to $3.40.
Bulls have Deen siow suie an tne weex,
ha ami aa they were last, and but little
change In ruling prices have taken place.
The choice fat bulls are selling largely
from $2.90 to 83. a, ivitn an occasional saie
above that. Most of the bulla that bring
much over $3.26, tnougn, vere sola in wnn
a load of steers. Rologna grades go lsrgely
from $286 to 32.86. veal calves continue
in aetiva demand at Arm prices, best
grades selling as high as $5.7!.

iioVisll'There was rather a light run of
hogs here this morning, even for a Satur
day, snd the market opened about a nickel
higher. Trading was fairly active and the
bulk of the hogs sold at $5. OTH and $5.10.
with choice hogs going aa high, as $5.16.
The commoner loads sold from $5.05 down.
It waa not long before the bulk of the
offerings were disposed of, but toward the
CJOHS trading r.ecame leaa arnvo Him aiune
of the late sales were hardly as good as
the early ones. Most everything though
was disposed of In fairly good season.
For the week receipts have been very
heavy, there being an increase over last
week nf about 22,000 head, and, aa compared
with the same week of last year, there
is an increase of about 20,00 head. Con
sidering tbls heavy run, the market has
held up in remarkably good shape. Thurs
day proved to be tho low day of the week,
and since that time the tendency has been
upward and, as compared wnn tne Close or
last week, 'he loss only amounts to 2H6a
