Wab 1 CATTLE The demand Was fully equal to the supply of caul in algnt tin morning and an active and strong market was ex perienced from start U finish. All the buy ers were out in good season and everything was disposed of at a reasonably early hour. A good proportion of the offerings con sisted of beef steers and the market could safely be quoted steady to strong, with some oaies a little higher. The better grades, the same a uaual, sold to the beat advantage and showed the greatert strength. As high as 85. 20 was paid for a load of steers. Put thy wars the best of any that have been here in Soma time past. But wlills the Inquiry was best for the better grades even the ahort-feds sold to better advantage than they did yesterday. There was also a brisk demand fur cow tuff and the market could be quoted strong to a dime higher on anything at all deir able. The same as with steers the better grades sold to ths greatest advantsge. Canners and common cutter were probably not a great deal higher, but still they sold a llule better than they have of late. Prac tically everything In the cow line was out of first hands at an early hour. Balls sold more freely than uaual snd In some cases the prices paid looked quite a llttWe higher. Veal calves wars In good re quest at strong prices. The demand continued In good shape for Blockers and feeders snd It would be safe to quote the market strong and active all around, though of course the cattle show ing quality ware in the greatest demand.
