The work of earing the ground for the
Great Western terminals Is being pushed
rapidly as possible. Altogether there
have been moved from the terminal prop
erty about sixty houses. This Is two
thirds of the number located on the prop
erty when the work began. Some of the
buildings have not yet been disposed of.
It la the Intention to begin grading the
tract as soon ns It Is sufficiently cleared.
A large amount of grading will have to be
done, as almost the entire tract Ilea far
above the level on which the trains of
the company will have to enter the ter

Charles P. Matthewson, former agent at
the Omaha and Winnebago Indian reserva
tions, was in the city Tuesday evening,
being summoned here as a witness In the
Best and Comstock oases, shortly to come
before the United States district court.
As there Is no Immediate prospect of the
cases being called for several days, Mr.
Matthewson was discharged as a witness,
subject to recall, should It be determined
that his evidence may be necessary later.
Judge Munger has not yet handed down
