HOGS Receipts this morn in a: were
light for this time of wrek. but
the market was nenfn extremely
dull. Packers were slow about start
ing out. and when they old. tholr bldn
were only about steady. Salesmen, on the
other hand, thought they ought to get a
little more money and as a result tho
morning was well advanced before much of
any business was transacted. The bulk
of the medium to good weight hogs went
from $6.00 to $5.17 with prime heavies from
$5 20 to $o.$0. The lighter weights sold from
$5 00 down.
At noon there were still a rood ninny
hogs In first hands and buyers were very
innirrerenr. 'j hey did not seem to cars
whether they rot the hogs or not nnd In
fact salesmen who had light stuff said thst
It was almost Impossible to get even a bid.
If the market was fully Bteady at the open
ing It was not only very dull st tho close,
but It waa weak. Representative sa'.ea:
Klnnz Clly Live Stork Market.

CAT'l LE There was
run of cattle In sight this morning, but with
a good local demand, together witn ravor
able advices from other points, the market
ruled active with prices generally a 'itllo
atronger. The late arrival of trains delayed
the market to quite an extent, but still the
bulk of the offerings waa out of first handa
befora noon.
The market on corn fed steers could aafely
i be quoted active and strong, with sales go
ilng all the way from steady ton, dime
higher. There wits naturally mora or less
unevenness In the prices paid owing to tha
rapid changes during the week. As com

with the low day last week there Is an ad

The kinds that wera neglected last week ny

most Improvement. Packers did not want
them hecsune thev were too thin and feed
ers did not buy them owing to lack of qual
ity. Packers, however, are taxing mem
this week at an advance 01 luny 10c.
The row market was active and strong.
The same aa with beef steers sales ranged
all the way from steady to a dime iiigner,
the greatest Improvement being on the good
to choice srndes. Canners may be a tittle
better, but that class of stock has been sell
ing In much tne name notcnes ror some
time past. As receipts of cow Btuff were
not exceBstve a good clearance was msu.
Bulls showed but lime cnange irom ye.
tarrlav Thev might have been a ilttli
easier to sell, but- there waa no particular
improvement in tne prices paio. veai caivts
sold freely at good. steady prices.
There were on v a lew stocaers ana reea
