"Tork State Folks," Arthur Sidman's de lightful comedy of villnge life, will be at the Krug tonight. It has often been re marked that "York State Folks" would not seem the some without the original "folks" who holped to make the'Sldman play famous by the unaffected portrayals they gave of the author's character con ceptions. Admirers of "York State Folks" hare ho cause for misgiving, however. Manager Wright still holds the famous original cast Intact, from Raymond Royce aa TJncle Myron and James Lackaye as Simon Peter, down to the three clever children. The engagement at the Krug la for three nights and Saturday matinee. The Orpheum will give Its midweek mati nee this afternoon. A number of the features on the bill are especially suited for women and children. The- "Eight Vaasar Girls" In their unique musical turn and electric ballet, with their costumes and the scenery effectively bedecked with hun dreds of tiny Incandescent lamps present a, spectacle of a kind never before seen at the Orprteum. Christina's monkeys and AJIIce Lyndon Doll, the Juvenile prima donna, will appeal to the children. On Friday evening at the Boyd Mr. How ard Kyle and company will present "Rose mary" for a single performance. Mr. Kyle Is well remembered In Omaha for his pre sentation of "Nathan Hale" and other strong plays. In his characterization of Blr Jasper Thorndyke he has been much praised, while his company is said to be competent. On Saturday afternoon and evening "A Trip to Chinatown" will be the attraction at the Boyd. On Sunday Wlllard Sims comes back again In "Pickings from Puck.' There will be no doubt about a full house at Boyd's Thursday night, when Dumo, the "mysterious" makes his first appear ance In Omaha, Purno has come to be I recognized as one of the really great ma gicians of the day. . His work consists of straight out sllght-of-hand work, occultism and some very clever illusions In tho de- materiallsation of the human body. Dumo Is assisted by La Barge" who puts up a good program of oomlc songs, and spe cial work on various Instruments. This line of entertainment somewhat new to the v Young Men's Christian association, but will doubtless be very attr.ctlvee. Seats are on sale at the association office. A very noticeable change has taken place In several departments In J. L. Brandels & Sons' store. The candy department and the tea and coffee departments have been moved up from the basement to the main floor, next to the drug department, which has been considerably enlarged. New fix tures have been put In and the general ap pearance la wonderfully Improved. The en larged facilities enable them to handle cus tomers with much more promptness and! dispatch. Arrangements are under way to move tho soda water fountain In with the candy department The change has greatly Improved the appearance of the store. Atteatloa, A. O. V, W.
