Ignorance of the plans of "the jn.Wers that
be" and aays that all he can .lo .s to hus
band his htreugth and resources lor t,
meeting. There seems to be a disposition
on the part of the magnates to hold fast to
Kansas City. The fact Is urged that the
Western league's Interests In Kansas City
were acquired only after a hard struggle
and for these reasons its holdings In that
city should not be permitted to suffer.
It is alriudy a foregone conclusion that
Milwaukee will not have membership In
the Western league next year. Lincoln Is
slated for the seventh city, but the eighth
member of the ircult Is now the trouble
some feature.
Rourke thinks he has a strong team for
next year and that he will bo ablo to
finish well up toward the top. It ,(
plan to Inject new life Into tho team by
getting new and younger players than have,,
composed the team during the past two
years.
