CtflCAOO, Dec. 16. Fresh Indications ot

were Influential In causing a, net gain of

Comparatively Arm rablea and continued

tha main factora In bringing out a fair

nearly double those of the preceding year
and southwestern rcoeipts also showed
large gains. These features of tha domestic
situation wera responsible for a selling
movement that carried May down to W&tt

week and 310 a year ago.
Although tha advancing tendency In corn
received a check from the early decline In
wheat. It soon rallied from the depression
and ruled firm throughout the remainder of
the day. Small receipts and firm cables
wera partly responsible for the firmness.
Tha Iowa croo report showed a reduction
of e7,O0O,00O bushels In the present crop from
mat oc last year, 'there waa also a con
siderable Improvement In tha cash demand,
tha cash article showing a gain of a full
cent. After opening a shade higher at

A little demand from commission houses
and selling by scalpers wera about tha only
features In trading In oats. There waa no
