Furthrr development in the igitutlon fi.r tbe betterment of tbe county road and bridges are looked for Saturday, when tbe county commissioner meet In special ses sion, the call for tbe meeting having been made yesterday. Chairman Hofeldt slated that the county' roads and bridge had reached such a ren dition that the general demand for their betterment could no longer be drfeirefl. While the meeting Saturday Is callet for the esicial purpose of Advertising for bid for the repair of the county roa.V. the county bridges also will receive considera tion. The advertising for bius for the repair work en the county road 1 brought about by the protest filed st the last meeting of the commissioner against approval nt the bond and contract with E. R. Van Court for the repair work of the west two and one-half mile of the Dodge street end nn.1 the east two and one-half mile of tbe Cen ter street end of the county road. At a previous session the commissioner had awarded the contract to Mr. Van Coon. but when the board again convened to ap prove the contract and bond protest bad been filed by other contractors, who based their action on the ground that they hsd been given no chance to compete, since no advertisement of the bid Lad been made. The situation with resject to the county bridges and roads is deemed of such Im portance that the commiRloner are visit ing different section of the county to make a personal inspection, and thus determine the true conditions. In addition to the bridge near Elkhorn, which has broken down, other bridges over the Elkhorn river are in bad condition. Members of the county board said that unles the county road is soon repaired It will be irretriev ably damaged. Are Simply Perfect.
