Two Deaths.
The police have set at liberty Jeff Bates
colored, who was held In connection with
the Blaine tragedy, and Frank Overocker,
also colored and totally blind, who was
made responsible for the death of Glenna
Hale, a well known colored character In
police circles. The dismissal followed
reports of the coroner's Jury. Bates was
field merely during an Investigation which
proved that he was not the man wanted.
In the case of Frank Overocker, County
Attorney English, believing the evidence
adduced at the coroner's Inquest and the
result of careful investigation since then
would not secure a conviction, decldad not
to file complaint.

TRAIN TO RUN AGAINST TIME
Northwestern Will Attempt to Lower
Record from Chicago to
Omaha.
The Northwestern U framing up to beat
the fast time record of eleven hours and'
fifteen minutes from Chicago to Omaha,
made by the Burlington some years ago
when that road captured the through mall
contract. In order to accomplish this the
Northwestern will run one engine, the
largest and fastest In Its service through
the continuous trip, and will have the
truck clear with the exception of one train,
tho passenger which leaves Chicago at
11:30 p. m.
The truln that Is to make the test wilt
consist of a sixty-foot baggage car, con
taining the bagguge of the Arizona com
pany which will show at the Krug theater
next week and two Pullman sleepers, oc
cupied by members of this company. This
company will close Its engagement lu
Chlcugo Saturday nluht and open here Sun
day afternoon.
If this Is accomplished by the company
It will in Itself, constitute a new record, as
the rule, Is for companies closing In Chicago
Saturday night to open here Sunday night.
A at least three hours will be necessary to
set up the scenery the company will have
to reach Omaha before noon to login the
matinee at 2:20. The train Is scheduled to
leave Chicago at 12:30 Sunday morning.
