FIRST TRUSS IN A FEW DAYS
Snnports Roof of Aodltorlaaa Sow
Ready tm Hoist Into
Place.
The first truss of the Auditorium -roef
probably will bs raised to position ta two
or .three days. Work has been retarded
because of the delay tn arrival of tbs
eighty-eight foot derrick from Chicago, but
this has now been received snd is -being
placed. Two of the trusses Lav been
riveted together and placed In position for
hoisting. The derrick raises them by
tackle at two point, so that there Is no
danger of strain. This operation la of con
siderable difficulty, because the heavy Iron
work will at the h'ghent point of the
trusses be eighty-fire or ninety leet from
the ground. The trusses were supplied
by the American Bridge company of Mil
waukee and M per cent of the Iron is now
on the ground, only a few braces not hav
ing been delivered.
The air compreion riveter has been sn
attraction since It has been in use and a
number of men have daily watched It
placing the white-hot rivets. Tbs execu
tive committee of the Auditorium company
will meet at 1 o clock in the Omaha dub
today.
