ernoon and before pitcher and players had
normalised themselves sufficient damage
bad been done to make It Impossible for
Omaha to win. The final score waa S to
4 in faror of the Creams. Omaha looked
formidable In the first when Bhugart
smashed a rather low fly down close to the
third base line with Dusty Miller and
Welch on banes, but Blame's phenomenal
catch of the fly cut out the runs.
The Creama started like a whirlwind In
their half of the first. Stone waa passed.
McVlcker bunted successfully. Duff jr savcrl
flced and Braun waa passed. Cockman
made a hit to Hlrkey, who threw It to
Thomas. The latter threw wild to Genlns
and Btone, McVlcker and Braun scored on
the error, Cockman going to third, from
where he scored on C. Miller's hit. Ths
Creams sol three more in the second.
Mcpherson opened with a hit and went to
third on McVlcker's hit to right field that
missed SchafstalU Welch and Shue-art.
Braun made a two-bagger, scoring both
and came home on Cockman's hit, who
was retired trying to stretch It.
Omaha scored again in the eighth on
Welch's pass, Thomas out and fend Hlrk
ey s hit. They scored one more In the
ninth by a hit of Dusty Miller, followed
by hits of Bchafstall and Bhugart, who
died trying to make it a double. After
the first Banders pitched good ball. Thorn
ton failed to show up for the gam and
his nonappearance waa not explained.

tournament of the Transmtssisslppl Golf
association ended today by the pilng of
the finals. The men who were in the game
to tbe end were J. R. Maxwell of Kei.kuk
and R. H. Flnkblne of les Moines. Both
men are ex-lowa champions, but It was
apparent at the outset that Maxwell wouid
win and the game lost interest. The rain
fell during a large part of the day and
spoiled the game.
The solace and consolation matches fin
ished Just before noon today. H. C. Adams
won In the solace class, defeating "Jack"
Elbert up and 6 to pla. Elbert did not
plav anything like the game he played yes
terday in the semi-finals.
Fred P Carr-won the consolation match
