C. E. Moffett, an engineer on a Milwau
kee switch engine, was run over by M
own engine at the foot of N street, Bouth
Omaha, yesterday and instantly killed. Ha
was sitting- onv the footboard on the front
of his engine, eating his noon lunch! Ma
legs were hanging over the board slightly.
The engine was stationary, ' when poms
Union Pacific bo cars suddenly' bumped
Into It from the rear. This quickly started
the locomotive,' the Jerk throwing Moffett
forward under the wheels of the engine.
He was cut In two below the hips. Th re
mains were removed to Brewer's morgue
at Twenty-fifth and N streets.
Moffett resided at 715 South Eighth street,
Council Bluffs. Ha leaves a wife and child.
