KANSAS CITT. Mo.. June 20. (Special

I header here today, and at the end of one
of the greatest afternoons of base ball
ever seen In Kansas City, the score board
showed that each team had won a game
and that the score In each case "had been
I to t While the opening game was a
corking pitchers' battle, the wlndup fur
nlahed the sensation. Kansas City winning
out in the thirteenth after Omaha had
moved one run ahead in Its half and
. seemingly had gained a double victory.
, In the afternoon of sensations, the work
f of Milton, who pitched the entire twenty-
two innings for Omaha, stands out as one
of the moat brilliant pitchers' work ever
seen here. Not only did he win his first
game by allowing only three scattered
hits, which would not have been good for
a run had It not been for errors, but In
the thirteenth Inning of his second game,
he drove In OmaJia's second run with a
triple. He out pitched Nichols in the open
ing game and then held a fresh twlrler
right down to the hardest work In the
second.
The fielding of the games was much
better than the scores would indicate, but
the errors were soon forgotten In the
numerous senaatlonal plays, the outfield
beina- eaDeclally brilliant In hauling In
seemingly s.ife hits.
In the opening game Kansas City scored
Its only runs In the sixth Inning on one
hit. Miller's single and Strub'a out at sec
end, and Illckey's error.
Omaha Starts to WU.
Omaha started In to make it a clean cut
victory In the seventh, scoring a brace of
runs on singles by Wright and Dolan,
Oenlna' sacrifice and Illckey's double. The
winning run was tacked on in the eighth
on Shugart's Infield hit. a passed ball
and errors by Streib and Jacobs.
Kansas City moved oft again first In the
second game, scoring In the fifth Inning on
Kahl'a triple and Shugart's error. The
locals did not enjoy the lead long, how
ever, Omaha scoring a run In the seventh
on Carter's single and Shugart's double,
This brought the score into a deadlock
and while each team got men on drat,
there waa nothing doing In the scoring
line until the thirteenth.
Genius opened up In the last round In
very encouraging manner by going out on
. an Infield grounder, but Hlckey waited for
four wide ones and then reaching first and
I stole second. It was a close decision and
Kansas City hollered long and hard. Oond
log flew out to left and there were two
outs and man on second when Milton
came up. The plucky pitcher landed on
the ball, and It went bounding down th
left foul line and before Miller could dig
it out from und?r the club house Milton
was on third and Hlckey home with the
1 run that put Omaha one ahead.
I It was a great piece of work for Milton
and It was tough luck that he had no
better fate when the locals came up for
their final set to. After, an outfield out
Jacobs and Webster singled to center and
the latter stole second. The throwing of
Kahl'a fly to right scored Jacobs with th

ST. LOUIS, June 20. The game this after
noon in which St. Louis defeated Wash
ington 7 to 6, furnished a acnaation, Jesse
Burkett assaulting Tom Leftus, the Wnsh
InKton manager, In the first Inning. Bur
kett and Loftus had a wordy tilt at Wash
ington on the Browns' trip east. When
Burkett stepped to the bat today Loftus
called on Orth to strike him out, using a
vile epithet in so doing. Burkett, when
the offense was repeated, ran over to the
bench and struck Loftus repeatedly until
parted by his team mntes' and the police.
Both were ordered off the grounds by
Umpire f'onolly. who has forwarded a
report of the affair to Ban Johnson. Carey's
