The wedding took plac July 25, 1896, at Kenosha, Wis., but Wat kept secret. Mr. and Mrs. Mulr wer play mates In their childhood days and both wer students at the University of Michi gan. After, graduating Miss Close ram to Chicago and secured a position In tho public schools, where she was soon ap pointed principal. In 1S96 Mulr also cam to Chicago and engaged In the practlc of law. Th two met and th old friendship was renewed. A few months later th wedding took place, but It was thought ad visable to keep It secret, as Mrs. Mulr was anxious to retain her position In tha school.
