W00LW0RTH DELIVERS THE ADDRESS Kearney and Miss Alice Serena French of Omaha, the graduates of this year. The services closed with the singing of the hymn, "Sweet Savior, Bless Us Ere We Go." Tells Girls that Preparation for Do. nestle Life Is More Important Than that for Publle or' Seml-Pnbllo Work. The commencement exercises of Brownell hall were held yesterday at St. Mathias' church at 10:30 o'clock and two graduates were given diplomas by the bishop co adjutor of the diocese of Nebraska. The program was one of the most at tractive of any of the services connected with the close of the school year at the principal Episcopal educational institution of the state. The church was beautifully decorated with potted plants nd cut flow ers, the altar being covered with white roses. To the, music of the processional, Mendelssohn's march from "Athalla," 120 students of the school marched down the center alHla and took their place j before the kltar. . Following the ritualistic? morning prayer James M. Woolworth, chancellor of the diocese, delivered an address. The theme of the address was character building and the place occupied In that scheme by the schools. He dwelt upon the necessity of preparation for the work of life and the greater Importance of ample und due prepa ration for a life of quiet helpfulness and domesticity than preparation for more prominent but less satisfying life In public or seml-publlo capacity. During his remarks Mr. Woolworth pointed out what he conceived to be the advantage of the private school over the publicV He Insisted that the training re ceived In the private school la In every way superior to that given by the pulillc school, both for home life and for public life. This was followed by an address by Bishop Williams, who spoke of the Im portance of education In all walks of life, saying that in none Is It more Important than In the preparation of women for their highest place In the horn. At the conclu sion of his address he presented diplomas to Miss Elisabeth Margaret Uoodell of Union Paw I Be Par Cheeks and all other pay checks are cashed at our bank. For the week ending Saturday, June A, Police Court Clerk Grler collected In and turned over to city and county treasurers $386 in fines and costs Imposed on offenders up before Judge Berka. This makes the biggest collection for any one week In the three years since I have been clerk In the police court," says Mr. Grler. "For the ordinary conditions prevailing I think It beats all records, as the big collections of years ago were swelled by the regular monthly fines on gamblers and sporting women. I can't say that the Increased receipts now are due to ny particular cause Just a heavy grist of disorderlies, fast drivers, street solicitors and ordinance breakers generally. But It keeps the Judge and court officers busy." Chamberlain's Stomach 4 Liver . Tablets Better Than Pills. The question has been asked, in what way are Chamberlain's Stomach and Llvsr Tablets superior to pills? Our answer Is They are easier and more pleasant to take, more gentle and mild In their action and more reliable, as they can always be depended upon. Then they cleanse and In vigorate the stomach and leave the bowels In a natural condition, while pills are mors harsh in effect and their use Is often fol lowed by constipation.
