The eompalnlng witness wa Mrs. C. W. Young. 171! Bouth Beventh street. It Is charged that Hyde entered the house and had Just emerged therefrom when Mrs. Young returned from a call. Hyde Jumped a fence and disappeared down the alley. An Investigation of the premises showed that a couple of small Iron safes containing several dollars, a revolver and a razor were missing. Hyde stated that he wa out hunting- for work and got hungry and went up to the house, arriving there Ju9t as Mrs. Young did. On the way there he had picked up In the alley a small Iron safe, a revolver, a rasor nnd a key. He also noticed a man running down the alley. Later he found a coat and a shirt under the viaduct and substituted them for the coat .and shirt he was wearing.
