The South Omaha ex change announced that arrangements are complete for the entertainment of the Ger man commissioners who will arrive next month. The party will be in Omaha from t to 6:30 p. m. The stage employes of the various thea ters of the city will be tendered a benefit at the Boyd Thursday night, April BO. A long and varied program of all aorta of acts will be given. The orchestra will be made up of the greater part of the mu sicians: from the Boyd and Orpheum thea ters and It will be one of the best or chestras ever heard -In ( the city. Among thoee who have agreed to do an act are: Carl Retter, the Baileys from the Orpheum, Battle Carmontelle of the Ferris Stock company, Marie Bnowden, Dick Ferris, Mc Mnllen brothers, John Miley, CsJom Broder, Palsy Delmore, Flood and Hayes and Montrell. - The various members of the stage employes lodge have been circulating bout the city disposing of tickets, and they report very satisfactory progreas. The object of the benefit is a worthy one, its aim being to start a fund to aid cripples, destitute and ill members. Tickets may be had at the box office of any of the theaters of the city. The cause of this la the failure of the contractor of the Auditorium to start to work on schedule time tn order to complete the building In time for the ex hibition. A committee was Instructed to aecure a change in the date of the proposed show, but members of the committee state that nothing has been done, aa It appears impossible to have the building completed in time. SCALE IS NOT SIGNED YET Grading Contractors Dear that They Have Settled with Team sters. The grading contractors say their case has been incorrectly stated. ' They have not signed the teamsters' acale. The grading teamsters are getting $3.76 for man and team and demand 46 cents an hour atralght. The employers offered to compromise on 40 cents an hour for split teams and dumpers and 46 cents for patent wagons, providing that all the trouble would be adjusted so that work could be resumed. . , The ladles of the First Baptist church will give a chicken dinner April 29 at 1416 Harney, from 11:30 until 2 o'clock.
