This car was consigned to a well-known, exclusive carpet store, and during a re
cent washout some of the goods in the bottom of the car became wet. The railroad
claim agent wired us to make an offer on th: entire lot, just as it stood.
We bought $11,000 worth of high grade carpets and rugs at less than one-half
their regular worth. Only those on the bottom of the car were wet on the edges, and
