The cow market was also quite active and generally about steady with yesterday. There was some tinevenness to the trade, some sales looking better than yesterday, but as a rule there was not enough change to be worthy of mention. Practically all of the early arrivals were disposed of in eood neat-oil. 1 Bulls, veal calves and stags all sold In I the same notches they did yesterday, i The demand for atockers and feeders continued quite brisk so that anything at I " oesirauie soiu. eariy in 1 e morn.., u, ; yesterday s quotations. Speculators seemed I be looking lor a good demand from the 1 country the real of the week In spite of I the unfavorable weather so that they were all anxious for supplies. As compared wlih yesterday's general market the prices paid today show an advance amounting to luffjljc. Oood heavy hogs rold largely from IJ-20 to $7.3i, and as high as 37.36 was pal.l tor prime heavy hogs. The medium weights went most:y Irom 37 10 to $7.20. and the lighter loads from 37.10 down. It soon became evi dent that there were not enough hogs 011 pale to till puckers orders, so that trading was very brisk and nil the early arrivals were soon disposed of. Along toward noon, however, a train ar rived with sonic hogs and packers did not take hold of them In as good ehupe, so that the extreme close was a little slow and weak. Representative sales: NO. The general opinion, though, waa that packers would have paid good strong prices for anything at all desirable In the way of sheep and lambs, as they all appeared to be anxious for supplies. Most of the early arrivals were big, heavy wethers on the feeder order. There was a good Iniiuiry for feeders, so that the mar ket could safely lie quoted steady on feed ers as well as on killers.
