to Its Fact.
A sad case of accidental death to a new
born babe was brought to the attention of
the Board of Health last week. On Feb
ruary 12 a girl was born to Mrs. Charles
Jackson, wife of a Bight watchman for
the Nebraska Telephone company, residing
at 216 South Twenty-ninth street. Health
Commissioner Ralph was called hurriedly
Saturday morning and found that the In
fant had been smothered. He mad. aa
thorough an investigation aa possible and
decided that th. death was accidental.
Th. child was restless during th. night
and a neighboring woman who was In at
tendance placed it on the opposite aid. of
the bed from th. mother. Later Mrs.
Jackson became cold and th.' attendant
placed a pillow at her back. The mother,
sleeping, forced th. pillow back against
the infant's face and cut off 'th. air sup
ply. When th. nurse cam. to glv. It at
tention lit. was extinct.
Th. parents and family ot three small
girls displayed much grief when told that
th. baby was dead. Burial waa mad. at
Forest Lawn.

1
