Inary lo First Trial Set for
December -
It la the present plan of the county at
torney, with the consent of Judge Baxter,,
to begin December 1 the trial of Alonio V.
Miller of the South Omaha Board of Educa
tion, and to follow, hi trial With that of
the other members of the same board who
are, as is Miller, charged with accepting
bribes.
Theodore Shroeder was arraigned last
week In district : court and pleaded not
guilty. Miller and J. L. Kubat were-'arraigned
' yesterday,' with : Nelson C. Pratt ,
as their counsel, and entered a similar plea.
Three informations against Kubat were
read, the first charging him with accepting
$19.20 from the Oliver Typewriter company;
the second with accepting $5 from Sadie
Olver, and the third with accepting the
same amount from Lorena Johnson, all on
October 8. Two informations . were read
against Miller, the first charging that he
accepted $19.20 from the Oliver Typewriter
company on October 3. and the second that
he accepted $5 from Cecil Lyon on October
The latter Information will be the first
taken up for trial. ...'.' .'

The assets offered Included notes amounting

about $50,000 and real estate of the value 1
of $20,000. Tho sale wgs under an order
of Judge Munger of the federal court and '
was attesded by only o small group of
desultory bidders. The stockholders bay
an advantage in that they are allowed to
offset their bids with their owa claims
against the bank. ' .' .
Of the notes about one ln flv was bid -
on and then only la small amount,' as
many were outlawed.' One bidder, secured
for $1 two notes amounting in total to
more than $11,000.
