about 9 o'clock yesterday morning an!
suffered the loss ot his right leg- below the
knee.
Weare was at work with others on tht
tracks and it Is thought did not hear the
train approach on Its entrance Into the
yards. The . ground and - ties being slip
pery because of the melting snow, he wai
unable to get a footing In time to escap
the accident when he found the train wat
almost upon htm. He was1 hurled under the
cars and his leg was so badly mangled that .
