HOQS There was far from being a heavy
supply of hogs hrre today, but as reports
from other points were rather unfavornble
to the selling interests prices eased off a
little here. The market opened slow but
about steady and the bulk of the good
weight hogs sold on that be win. It wns
noticeable, however, that packers v ere
picking out the good weights and leaving
the lighter loads. Later In the morning
provisions broke and other .markets wore
ouoted lowerj so that trading here closed
slow,-with prices weak to a nickel lower.
As most ot the heavy hogs sold early, the
decline was most noticeable on the lighter
weights. Hepvy hogs sold largely from
17.76 to 17.90 and the medium welahts went
largely from 17.70 to $7.75. The lightweights

SHEEP There wss a verv llsht run o
sheep here today and In fact nearly every
tning mat arrived on the market was
lambs, and only a few of those. The de
mand was in good shane and as a result
trading waa active and the prices paid were
lOCiilbc higher than yesterday. Packers all
seemed to have liberal orders and there
were , not near enough sheep snd lambs
offered to meet the demand. There were
not enough wethers and yearlings on sale
to make a test ot tne market, put tne gen
eral impression was that they would hnve
advanced fully as much as the lambs. The
top price of the day was $5.S0, which was
paid for a choice bunch of lambs.
Feeders were also scarce today and it is
safe to quote the market strong, as the de
mand continues of liberal proportions.
