western tennis championship, to be held
under the auspices of the Kenwood Country
chtb at Chicago, commencing July 18. Mr. '
Farnsworth has been In Omaha some days.
and in play at the Field club courts has
demonstrated that his match at tennis does
not reside In Omaha. . . .
Though but twenty-one years ot age.
Mr. Farnsworth haa long been the cham
pion tennis man ot Nebraska, and be has
for the past two yeara in succession won
the championship. sraalee of -Iowa,- Ne
braska and South Dakota In the tourna
ments held annually at Sioux City.: With
Isaac Raymond, Jr., ot Lincoln, too, he haa
twice won the championship In doubles ta

Mr, Farnsworth Is a college man, having
Just completed his Junior year In the aoa
demlo department of the University pt Ne
braska. He will not graduate there, how
ever, as hs will complete hla course at
Cornell university, entering - there next '
September. His reason for changing to the
eastern university Is to get Into (aster
tennis company. After playing at the
Kenwood tournament he will follow the cir
cuit t Lake Mlnnetonka, near Minneapolis, '
where the Northwestern championship
tournament begins July 88, and then ' to
Omaha, where the Western Interstate
championship will be played at the Field
club, beginning August 1L

at Kansas City In addition, Mr. Farns
worth figures that he will be. In prime
shape in September when he goes to Cor
nell, and believes that hs should be able
to make the university tennis team there
with little difficulty. In that event he will
