Ten young women employed by the OUon
Chemical company. Tenth and Harney
streets, struck yesterday morning because,
as they claim, their employers wanted them
to work from 1 o'clock in the evening until
10:80 overtime for 25 cents. Four of the
strikers weakened shortly after the walk
out. however, and the remaining balf-doien
are left to carry out their fight.
The girls were employed In the manu
facture of patent neat eggs, some being
moldert and soma packeTa. The former,
received $140 a day and the' latter' 11 for
ten hours work. They were asked to work
the three and half hours overtime and de
manded a full half day. The leader of the
bolting force says they were given the
alternative of accepting 25 cents for the
overtime or quitting and chose the latter.
