It I the largest photograph ever made and ahows th Swift company' business offlc at Chicago, the scene represented being the Interior of the firm's office building. It picture a room on and one-halt block long, where 700 men and women are em ployed. The photographic print Is eight feet, four inches wide and four feet si Inches high. Taken by O. R. Lawrence of Chicago, with a camera, especially con structed for the purpose a hole had to be cut In the celling to admit It and th stand. Th Instrument was twenty by nine feet by six feet and the plate used weighed 200 pounds. Of course. It would not have been pos sible to show the detail brought out In this picture without the aid of flashlight accessories In various part of th room. Twenty pounds of this powder were used and was suspended In four troughs In va rious part of th room. All these troughs were connected by electricity and the touch ing of a button produced simultaneous flashes, lighting all part of th room. Th successful taking of thla picture may be taken aa an Illustration of the progress that Is being made In the photographlo art. Incidentally It gives an Idea of the great growth of the slaughtering and packing Industry, of which Chicago Is th center. wlft A company employ 7,110 men, whll th weekly payroll of all their establish ment Is $211,252.
