Judiciary committee of the aenat today
reported a bill to tb aenat which looks

threatened litigation over land title In

ot tb wife under a power of attorney, aad
prevent a claim by the wit for her dower
interest therein becauae ot her failure to
personally alga tb deed. It haa recently
been decided by the supreme court that
tha wtfe'a dower Interest cannot be die-
posed of by th husband acting under power
of attorney from the wife. Thla baa opened
tho way to a vast amount of litigation, and
number of suits hart been commenced
to recover dower Interest in land thus
transferred. The aenata committee bill
doe not affect any pending litigation, but
as to all other matter correct the evil.
