CATTLE There was a good liberal run
of cattle here today, but there wero no
very Important fluctuations In prices, as
pacKers as wen as tecaer nuyers iook
hold In good shape. As a result the mar
ket was active and not far from steady
all around. Tho receipts were mostly
composed of cow stuff and feeders, very
few ocet steers ocing oncreu.
The limited onering oi corntea steers
prevented a very good test of tho
market from being made. It Is safe, how
ever, to quote desiraoie graaes just auout
steady wun last ween ana comon hiuii
rather slow. Packers seem to prefer tha
western rangers to common kinds of corn-
tfos.
The supply of cow stun was very uo-
rnl this mornlna. but trade ruled fairly
active and right around steady prices wero
paid. Tno Dettcr grades movea more ireeiy
man tno comon tuuii, uui biiu muiu nun
very little change noticeable In the prices
Ptt.'A.. ,a

tically last week's notches. .
Tho greatest activity today was In the
feeder trade. Speculators were all
anxious for cattle and as a result any
thing at ull good was picked up In good
season at steady to strong prices. Heavy
cattle ana cnoice yearlings wero very,
ready sellers, but stock calves also sold
at stronger prices. The cattle that were
neglected the most were tho medium
weights. Common cattle while not active
sold for fully as much as tho same kind
brought last week.
DestraDle grades oi western Deei steers
were scarce toaay ann tno mnrKot on
such kinds can safely bo quoted steady.
Tho common kinds, however, wero rather
slow sale today, as pacKers aa not peem
at all anxious for them. Cows sold freely
at steady prices nnd stockers and feeders
were steady to strong and nctlve.
