Another step has been taken In the set
tlement of the affairs of tho Grcatrr Amer
ica exposition. Judge Dickinson has handed
down a decision In the lien cases pending
before him, which Involved an amount Ag
gregating about $6,000.
The more Important claimants were J, Tl.
Lohmer, the Cady Lumber company nnd
Morton & Sons, with scvoral other claim
ants for smaller amounts. The claim ol
Mr. I.ehmer, aggregating $3,000, was not sl
owed ns a lien; tho clnlm of tho Cady-
umber company, about $2,000, was allowed
s n Hen, while the Hen claimed by Morton
Sons was allowed In part, $1,000 belnK
stricken from the amount covered by the
Hen. The other claims were allowed or die-
Mowed In amounts sufficient to maka the
ggregato ot tho Hens allowed $8,000, an
approximately equal amount being disal
lowed.
Tho decision of these cases has an Im
portant bearing on tho case of the trusts
f tho Greater America Exposition com
pany against tho Chicago Wrecking com
pany, now pending In the United Btatea'olr
cult court. By tho terms of the agreement
between the wrecking company and th ex
position company the formor was to be ai-
owed credit on tho purcnase price ot ma
buildings for all money paid by It to hold
ers of lions, to attorneys for preserving tha
Itlo to the buildings In the wrecking com
pany, to porsons employed ns police officers
n preserving tho buildings, nnd for ail.iosa
material. Until the Hon were estab
lished In the 8tntecourt It was lm"osslbla
for tho case In the federal court to tried.
The clnlm against tho wrecking company
amounts to $21,000, subject to the, credits
mentioned, tho exart nmount of which can
not be known until, tho trial of the case, aa
some Items arc contested.
It Is understood that certain parties In--
