For tho week the' supply has been . fairly liberal, though not quite eqjnl to that of ast week. With the exception of Inst i.;.,.., iim miiihiK- this week was the heaviest In some time past and also only a trllle short of the corresponding week of last year. Tho qunllty of t it. of ferings this week haa not been quite as .7. 1, ,iu ihn ti'nrk before, elthor In tho native or western dtvUlons. As the supply of cattle was liberal at all points the tendency of prices was downward. There were not many cemfed cattle offered this week, but tho break in pricea nt Chicago g.ivo buyers an opportunity to ...ir.. ntr ull th,. wiiv from 15c to 2.1C at this point. The greatest decline was of courso I I. I L. 1 A r. till rA tl' ft tl on tlio leBs uesiriiuio umi the last of the week In particular tho ommon stun was siow sine. ti.a oniit.lv nt rnwu wns very liberal nil the week, and, while prices held up in pretty good ahapo the tlrst few days, the market la now 154f25c lower than at tho close of last week, w.tn me excepuuu 01 the very best grades the murkot Is gonar illv u ii'inrtpr lower. Bulls, calves und stags havo also cased oft a little In sympathy with the decline on cows and steers. Choice handy weight dehorned feedor bulls, however, are higher than thoy wero a week ngo, as there nas been quite a demand for them the last few days, The supply of stockers and feeders was also liberal this week und particularly was that true of thu commpner grades, for which the demand was the smallest. Thero wero none too many ot tne choice neavy- wolght feeders and choice yearlings 10 meet tho demand and prices on that class of cattlo are steady for the week. The medium weight feeders and the common cattle of all weights wero very hard to movo ot any price and sellers had to take whatever buyers were willing to glvo. Prices may safely ha quoted anywhere from 10c to 15c lower for tho week. A notable feature to the trado In western cnttle this week was tint lack of choice fat steers, The week before tho quality of tho offering-, was much better and that fact probably had something to do this week with the downward course of prices. The decline Is fully as great as on tho corn cattle, nnd may safely be put nt 16ti2ic. Cows have nlso easod off thut much. If not more. Choice heavy feeders have held lust nhmit steady, nnd so ulso have tho good to cholco yearlings, but the common truck hns been very Blow sale and limiioc lower for the week. HOflS There wns a fair Saturday's run of hogs here today, and ns other murkets wero quoieu lower prices easea on nere a little. The market opened about 6c lower nnd dosed weak. The long string of tho hogs sold at $6.62V4 and the bulk went at from $6.50 to $6.55. On the Inst end puckers were not willing to pay over $6.50 und $6.524 for tne general run. Aitnougn tno market wns not verv active at any time nrnctlcally everything was sold In fairly good season. 1 nere nave ueen more nogs on mis mar ket the past week than for some time past, but there Is still a decrease us compared ivlth thn mime week last vear.
