Tbe first of a series of eighteen case,
wherein eighteen society women of Omaha
seek to replevin rugs now in possession of
Constable Michael Llnahan of South Omaha
tried yesterday in Justice Crawford's court
resulting In a verdict for the plaintiff, Mrs.
George W. Buck. This will not serve a a
test case, but the Justice will have to hear
the testimony in each of the remaining
seventeen cases,
This litigation grows out of tbe fact that
the eighteen women some three months ego
sent their old carpets to tbe Bloomington
Rug company of Bloomington. III., to have
them made Into rugs, Ignoring tbe half
dozen Omaha concerns that do the same
kind of work. When tbe goods were re
turned they were at once seized by a South
Omaha firm to satisfy a debt alleged to
I bo due from tht Bloomington Rug company.
