The story wni that Senator Allison and Minister Coiigi-r had been In a conference; that Allison 3 friends had convinced him that while Mr. Cummins has secured tho neutrality of Senator Dolllver by assurlug him ho w.is not after his scat In the senate. Cummins wns rjally seeking tn hupplant Alllsou and that Allison had hecomo convinced that this was so truo that ho had best come to I own nnd try to prevent the rise of Cum mins. At present Mr. Cummins is unquestion ably tho leading candidate for governor.
