CATTLE There was a good run of cattle
here today, out none too many to meet
the requirements ot local naukers. Buyers
started out early and bought up practically
every ming on ino margei mat was at an
desiratnu at good strong prices.
'ihere were about Uu curb 01 beef steers
Included In the receipts today and the
belter grades were lu active uemand. It
has been sumo time since buyers were as
anxious for good cattle as they appeared
to fie tonuy and tor mat reason 11 aid not
take them long to clear the yards. The
market could safely be quoted buioc higher
than yesterday on the belter grades, or
tully a dune higher than Friday of lust
weeK. 'Ihere were a good many choice
cattlo on sale today, as the bales below
will show, A string of ll'j head sold at
to.26 nnd a lour-loau
which Is the highest
on tills mnrket. It
lunch 'brought I5.S0,
price of the season
wna a good, active
market all around and even the less de
sirable grades sold nt very satisfactory
prices.
The prices paid for cows and heifers did
not shuw much chungo today irom yester
day. Uuyers eeined to wmit the arv lot
cows and paid tully steady prices tor them.
The common kiiiur and grassers were a
little neglected, but still they sold in
about the same notches they did yesterday.
lJL.ua could also ue quoted sieaoy today
where the quality was satisfactory. The
tact should be uorne In mind, however,
that anything showing grass Is discrim
inated against. Stags sold at good, strong
prices In sympathy with the advance on
steers, nnd veal calves also met with ready
sale at good prices.
There were only a few feeders in tho
yards today and no particular change was
noticeable in the prices paid. Tho demand
seemed to be Just about equal to the supply
at steady prices. Representative bales;
