last night. Property owners who would be
nflootrd by tho change were out in force,

opposed to the scheme The president of
tho club stated that tho Intention of the
club was to Indorse the plan decided upon
by tho majority of property owners along
the street.
On tho question of opening the street be
tween tho north end of tho viaduct nnd
Leavenworth street It was stated that some
of tho owners would deed tho property
needed providing tho city would juy His
damages awarded several years ngo and
that they would ngroe to pave the street,
but did not desire to fill II.
On motion of Henry Holilft It wns decided
to Instruct the secretary to notify the rlly
coiiticll and city engineer that the club
favors n change In the grade of Twenty
fourth street between l.e.ncnworth and Pa
cific streets to .1 grade not to exceed (5 per
cent nnd that the olllcliils be Invited to at
tend the next meeting of tho club, nt which
Interested property owners will bo prcscut.
S. A. Corneor made a brief speech on his
experience In the legislature and gave na a
reason for tho failure to pass laws de

therefore decided to let lawn remain us
