final report nt noon yesterday nnd was dis

tho warrants nro served by tho United

Judge Dickinson has denied the applica
tion of Georgo Gtithard for a restraining
order to prevent his landlord, Baltlms Jot
ter, from ousting him from a saloon on
Twenty-fourth street ln South Omaha.
Guthard has rented the premises until
recently, when Jettcr leased the saloon to
unothcr tenant, maintaining that Guthard's
term ot occupancy had expired. Jetter
was forced to tnko possession of the
premises by tho nld of the sheriff.
J. F. Kelly, a saloon keeper formerly In,
tho employment of tho Metz Dros. Draw
ing company, npneared bcfnrn Judgo Vin
Honhuler yesterday to answer to tha
charge of larceny as bailee. Kelly Is said
to havo kept 1500 belonging to tho brewing
company which ho should have returned.
Every Saturday each of tho men In tho
saloons conducted by Metz Dros. Is allowed
to draw 1500 from tho firm's account at the
Packers' National bank to bo used ln cash
ing checks of worklngmen. Kelly clrow
the money one week, nnd Is charged with
not having returned the sum on the fol
lowing Monday, according to custom.

and Den Wroth and claiming to bo brothers,
were arrested near old Fort Omaha yester
day and aro lodged in Jail on charge
of being auspicious characters. The pollco
hopo to connect them with several burg
laries which have boon committed ln that
vicinity during the last two or threo nights.
Tuesday night Hart's saloon, Thirtieth
and Ames avenue, was entered by burglars
and 1C0 taken from the cash drawer. Tho
slot machloo was also looted of some nmall
change.
Several burglaries havo been reported to
tho police from Florcnco recently, Tho
postofQco, three stores and a blacksmith
shop wore robbed there Tuesday night.
Monday night two burglars attempted to
forco an entrance to the store of Henry
Kundle, Military avonuo and Grant street,
but wero frlghtcnod away. About 1 o'clock
In tho morning Mr. Kundle heard a uolso
In the rear of his store. Arising, he took
a revolver and walked out upon tho back
veranda, where ho stood for some time
listening. Then, thinking to frighten away
any ono who might happen to bo prowling
about, ho fired his pistol Into the air.
Instantly two men leaped out of a clump
of grass a few yards distant aud opened
fire upon him, which Mr. Kundle returned.
Somo saven shots were exchanged ulto
gether, then the fellows ran away,
A few minutes later Mr. Kundle dis
covered that hla rear door had been prhd
open. Nothing was missed from the storo,
however.

Florence was the scene ot a series of
burglaries Tuesday 'night. These places
were visited: S. D. Leach's meat market,
where several links of bologna were stolen;
John McGrcgor'B blacksmith shop, where
nothing was taken save several flies and a
rasp; II. C. Smith's drug store, which
was ransacked; tho postoftlce, which suf
fered similarly, and tha Minneapolis &
Omaha depot. Two old watches Wore taken
from tho depot. Nothing of valuo was
stolen from tho pontolllca, but several pack

purso containing some small change.

snow, as far as Thirtieth stroot, where two
suspicious characters giving tho m.mes of
Ed and Den Wroth wero arrested.
