Klnley currying tho stute ot Nebraska was
offered by ox-Govornor Jniucs E. Boyd at
noon yestorday on a telegram from nilllncs,
Mont. Tho telegram read as follows:
"Can you place $1,000 or moro that Mc
Klnley won't carry NobraBkn. Bigger &
Morris."
Tho telegram was received by Mr. Boyd
Just beforo noon and ho immediately
telephoned to the World-Herald offlco ask
ing them If they hud nny Bryan money to
put up on an even proposition. No re
sponse was made to tho offor, but Mr. Boyd
was referred to tho state committee. Ho
snld that he was not hawking tho wager,
but that it was open for takers.
In n short tlrno tho word went out that
tho bet was postod, Mr. Boyd certifying to
tho responsibility ot the Riflings house.
About 1 o'clock L, R. Cottrell offered to

ance before evening.
