few weeks the gauntlet has been thrown
down by one road to tho other and the war

culty started July 1. At that time, accord
lng to an agreement reached by tho tralTlc
managers of western roads, pools were to be
established In Omaha, as well ns several
other western cities. This was with the
purposo In' view of doing away with tho fre
quent rate disturbances, and plans were
u greed upon where-by curtain penalties were
to bo Imposed upon tho roads that should
