CATTLE Thero wns another eood llbera.1
supply of cattle here today, but the same
as yesterday the market wa active and
steady to stronger on practically nil kinds
of good cattle. Thre wa a good sprink
ling of corn cnttle here, but not many
westorns Rood enough for killers.
Packers nil seemed to want fresh supplies
and ns a result sellers had little dlfllculty
In disposing of their corn fed steers at
steady to stronger prices. It wns n fairly
actlvo market so that everything offered
was sold at nn early hour. The better
grades are, of course, In the best demand,
but even the commoner kinds have sold
In good shape this week.
The cow market was native again today
and prices ruled steady to strongsr at the
week's advance of 10:515c and In somo
cases the advance has ben ovtn more than
that. The Improvement has been greatest
on the better grades, but iirlcus nr better
all along thu line. Practically everything
wan sold at u reasonably early hour today,
although there was a good liberal supply.
The feeder market was also In very
satisfactory shape again today. The bettur
grades brought steady to stronger prices:
but the common light cattle did not move
qulto so freely today as yesterday. Sell
ers were calling tho market a little e,aslr
on the common grades nnd tho last end
was rather draggy as yard traders smed
to have about all they wanted for the tlmo
being.
Iiy far the bulk of the western cattle to
day were feeders, only a few bunches blng
fat enough for killers, Packers, however,
took hold with u good deal of lift and
bought them up at steady to strongor
prices. Cow stuff also sold hotter today,
sales showing up fully 10yi5c higher than
the close of last week. Feeders also moved
freely today If they were of good weight
and quality nnd prices on that dons of
cattle were steady to stronger, but tho com
mon light cattle were ratnisr weak and In
some enses prices were 5j?10c lower. Repro
sentatlvo sales:

HOOH-Thero was
the heaviest run of

little time, but the demand was equal to
1110 occasion, nnu. as u re.-uut. tne m.irxet
wns In good shape Chicago reported better
prices and the market opened here gen
erally 6c higher. The advance was rather
uneven, however, as some sales were mndo
that looked no more than steady, while
others were h dime higher than vesterdny's
market. The more desirable grades were of
course, In the best demand, but ut the same
time. In many cases, tlie advance wns on
the heavyweights that were nlmo-it Im
possible to move a short time ago Packers
seem more willing to take the heavy hogs,
but they do not like to pay as much for
them us for the lighter weights
Tho bulk of the light hogs sold around
J5 05 and STi.O'ti, with severnl loads at 15 lOj
5 12'4, and a prime load of butcher weights
brought as high a J5.15. Medium weight
hogs sold mostly nt r..02'si6 05 and the
coarse heavy hogs went from 15.00 down.
