drop In values nmountlng to 10ffl5o. That
iiuiuraiiy mnuo uuyers liearlsh here, In
view of the good supply, nnd the market
asa result wns "I""' nnd lower nil around.
There were In the neighborhood of 41
curs of corn cattle on sale and bids were
generally top 15c lower. The greatest de
cline was of course on the half-fat stuff
and sellers found it difficult to dispose of
that clnss of stock at any price. It was a
slow mnrket from start to finish nnd it
was late before anything like a clearance
was criecicu.
There were nbout 40 cars of cows here
today and buyers started out to get them
for less money than thev nald vesterrinv.
The best grades wero perhaps close to
steady, but everything else was lower. A
dlmo would probably cover the decline In
the majority of cases. The market was
rather uneven, tliouch. on dinners ns well
as on tho medium grades, so that the mar
ket Is best described by calling It un
evenly lower.
Tho stocker nnd feeder trnde was hardly
ns good today as It has been for the past
several days. The supply has been liberal
all the week and tho demand from the
country has also been large, but todav's
big run rather broke prices. There were
hardly any good, heavy, fleshy cattle here
today, b:it what few did arrive sold nbout
tho sumo ns yesterday. Other grades, how
ever, sold lower, tho decline being about
the samo as on tho corn cattle. Cattle
weighing around TOO to S"0 nre In the least
demand, light stockers or heavy feeders
selling better than the medium weights.
The supply of western grass beef cattle
was very light today, most everything In
the steer line going to speculators. ICIIIerd
wero generally 10ft 15c lower and slow.
Cows wero unevenly lower nnd feeders
sold from nearly steady on the heavy cattle
to 10c or i.'io lower on me less desirable.

HOCl-S There was the heaviest run of
hogs today that has been received so far
this week and heavier than the Hunnlv on
nny day Inst week. The lunllty wns fairly
good, but the proportion of light weights
was smnuer, most of the iocs beinc butcher
weights. The market starud out this
morning nbout stem v. with tho tisua
preference for the lighter grades. There
5vtis no particular clmim.' in tlui uric s
paid, the bulk of the salss falling tn vtstcr-
day's notches. Owlnr to the smnll suddIv
of the light hogs the butcher grades sold

The last end of the mnrket was very
slow and mean. At n lato hour there were
