Tho time seems to havo come when even
Rolf and the Country club, with nil Its at
tendant pleasures, ran hold society no
longor. l-'or a month past fnshlotinble people

net to nil parts of tho country. Tho Min
nesota lakes seem to ho especially popular
this year with those people who arc partial
to the quiet of cottnRo life ilurliiR the warm
months and tho great lakes have attracted
an unusually largo number of tourists. An
alarming number of bachelors havo gone
nnd are still going to tho far northwest,
whllo tho representation In Kuropc this
Bummer exceed that of any previous year.
Of courso those who havo Just returned
from college will bo content to remain nt
homo for a while, and several picnics and
tallyho rides during the last week wcro oc
casions of Joyoun reunion for those who have
been separated during tho last school, year.
In fact, theso young people seem to be the
only ones that have had any Inclination
to entertain or bo entertained of late.
The Country club furnishes excellent place
nnd occasion for society people to nee each
other, and the Saturday night hop is quite
as formal uh anything it seems to caro to
undertake.

At S o'clock Tuesday evening, in tho par
lors of tho Young Women's Christian asso
ciation, tho mnrrlngo of Mr. Frank Smith
of Cleveland, O.. anil Miss Dora Cady was

and whlto. As tho bridal party entered tho
dining room to Lohengrin's wedding march,
played by Mrs. Frances Ford. Misses Mary
Harford, Carry Oraff, Julia Wolnlander and
Margaret Thomas advanced with tho ribbon
which formed tho two aisles. Mr. Smith
and Mr. fleorgo I. Ilabcock entered tho
parlor by tho main door and tho bride,
beautifully gowned in whlto opera batiste,
nnd walking with Mrs. Habcock, entered
through thu second parlor. Under an um
brella of asparagus and whlto carnations, In

Miss Cady has been general secretary of
tho association for the last five years, Mr.
Smith Is now financial secretary of tho
Cleveland association. After n six weeks'
trip along the lakes Mr. nnd Mrs. Smith will
bo at homo after Scptombor 1 in Cleveland.

wero hung throughout tho grovo, giving n
fitrlklng and artistic effect. Over the danc
ing pavilion wero strung hundred of elec
tric bulbs. Tho dancing program wns pro
ceded by a delightful luncheon served on
the lawn by tho young women of tho party.
Special cars conveyed tho picnickers across
tho river nnd thenco to Manawa lu charge
of officials of tho company. Those who pre
ferred the lako to tho dancing floor spent
part of tho evening on tho water In sail
