OATTI..I5 Yesterday's cattle market was
10ttl5c lower as reported , and today the.
cattle sold about Mcady at th , t decline.
That Is , the cattle today were sold In about
the same notches as yesterday.
There were not far from forty loads of
cornfed steers In the yards , a good many
of them short fed stuff , but still there were
some pretty fair cattle among the offer
ings. The market on all good kinds was
steady , but the feeling on zonunon and
undesirable stuff was weak. The market
was reasonably active , so that the most
of the cattle changed hands early In tht\
forenoon. Shippeis must understand that
at the present time It takes right good cat
tle to bring $5.40. Cattle are now selling
15'a20c lower than the good time last week.
Cow.i and heifers seemed to be In pretty
lair demand at steady prices , and practically
everything changed hands In reasonably
good season. Uuyers seemed to want good
cows and heifers and were out looking for
them. Hulls were a little weak , and for
two days can safely be quoted lOc lower.
Veal calves were scarce and the market
strong , so much so that the best brought
$7.25.
The stocker and feeder market was Just
about steady early , but later on speculators
did not appear quite so anxious for the cat
tle and the market closed slow and lower.
